Haven't Forgotten the Blog

Hola everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know I have not forgotten about the blog but once again, I can't get my photos to send from my phone to the blog. I'll keep trying :)

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had such a wonderful time in NYC. Lots of touring around, food, shows and shopping. The parade was wonderful, especially from the comfort of our room. We could see that parade from our window as well as watch the performances on the TV!
I look forward to seeing everyone at the Christmas party this Friday. I realize the invitation was a mess and some of you couldn't see it. If you need information, let me know.

Trip To Raven Falls

Today we decided to take a trip north and go hiking at Raven Falls. Gorgeous day for it!! We hiked a total of 5 miles and fat dog even made it. I was a bit concerned because the extent of his exercise is to the backyard and back in but he did well--short legs and all.

This picture is him half way through when we finally made it to the falls. He found a rock and layed down!!!

Ansley's pumpkin

Halloween 2009

Zack's pumpkin! I've tried to upload Ansley's but it keeps telling me it's corrupt :( Anyway, her's is a headless dancer a la Saturday Night Fever!
Ansley bought a costume that is still in the bag! She and Erin decided to go as softball players---bloody softball players!

Every year the three of four houses around us all get together and order pizza before we head out. Here's the gang. It seems weird to be in front of the Wicklund's house but NO WICKLUND'S!!! This year we have added Diego and Sebastien.

HAPPY HALLOWEENIE EVERYONE!

Gap Gone!!

The Daily WAHHHHHHHH Report

Well, where do I start? I had such a great week and then......Yesterday I dropped my iphone on it's face right on the concrete. Totally shattered the face. Took it to Apple today and they replaced my phone for 200$. They assured me that my phone had been backed up last Friday when I had connected to itunes. I got home to restore my phone and NO, my phone had not been backed up since September 25. Meaning? Everything that I had put into my phone since then was lost. All photos, contacts, texts and notes that I had taken - GONE. :(

A few days ago I tried to upload all the wedding photos onto the blog but for some screwy reason they wouldn't go. My blogger address was missing from my contacts so I spent a huge amount of time trying to figure it out. Finally did and started sending tons of pictures only to start realizing my mail count kept going up and up. Yep, delivery failure. Nothing would go. Luckily I sent the one family picture to my email account, downloaded and saved it then uploaded it. And there's where the story ends. All the other pictures have been lost.

Next on wahhhhh report....tonight. The kids and I had tickets to go see 101 Dalmatians at the Cobb Energy Center. Everyone starts getting ready. I check the tickets to make sure it's 8:00 and not an earlier 7:30 start time....NOPE....1:00. What the he?? We don't have student performance tickets, we have series tickets!!!!! More irritation.

Last on my list, for now......Since my phone has been changed over I can't check voicemail on my cell. It's asking for some password that I don't know nor will it give me the keyboard to try and figure it out. Kind of hard to with a keypad, grrrrrrr!!!

Upside, a little, is the landline is FINALLY fixed, although the AT&T guy had not even gotten in his truck when the phone rang.....marketer. It had been a really quiet month *sigh*.

The Gray's Complete Their First 5K!

Yesterday Gary, Zack, Ansley and I ran our first 5K! Zack is in the Track Club at Vanderlyn and is required to run 2 5K's a semester. So.....we decided we'd all run :-) It was called the Tavern Run and was sponsored by The Dunwoody Tavern, a pub here.

Zack ran with all his track club buddies-many shown above- and Gary ran along with him. They ran the entire 3 miles! Ansley isn't a runner so I stayed back with her and we did a run/walk kind of thing. I had a good time but I don't think Ansley will be running anymore family 5K's!! At least she can say she has!!!!!

Zack's First Homerun!!!

Big day in the life of Mr. Baseball----his first homerun. It was awesome. The whole team was screaming and banging on his helmet. Quite exciting!!

So Sad :(

I've been watching these two pugs at doggy daycare for years and this is exactly how they are always sitting- up against the wall and ALWAYS touching. They are there Monday through Friday and they never do anything else. I wonder if their parents think they are having fun? I think they'd rather be hanging out in their own home. Makes me sad. One day there was a mini doberman that had joined them so it was the three of them all piled up.

Ummmm, No Telephone

We haven't had telephone service in a few days and haven't bothered to call about it. Mainly because I don't have Bellsouth's number plus we don't really use the house phone for much other than ignoring sales people and other annoying folks calling for stuff (I'm not including any of you in there :)

If you need to catch us, please call the respective party on their cell phone. Perhaps I'll remember this week to call and check. It's been so quiet though.....

Happy week all!

Happy Boy :-)

Oh boy. What a day for Zack!! He got to pitch his first little league game today. It was so incredible watching him on the mound (well, i paced and watched.) He struck out the first two batters, walked the third, then dove and caught #4's line drive to get him out. His was the only inning where NO runs were scored!!!!

Mudcats pulled out a great win against the Bats.

Way to go Little Man. We're so proud :)

*edit--i do remember now one boy getting a hit (must have been #4, but he didn't get far. #5 was the line drive caught by lil man for the 3rd out.)

Congrats by His Team!

Pitcher

If you look closely you can see a little bitty pitcher on the mound.
That's Zack! He pitched an inning in the scrimmage game today and did
fantastic. Three up, three down!! Not bad for his first attempt :-)

Where Were You?

It seems like yesterday that I was standing in my kitchen with 8 month old Zack in his highchair and three year old Ansley in her booster. We were finishing up breakfast and Suzanne and I were on the phone having one of our long winded chat fests. Who knew that something so routine and familiar would become forever embedded in my mind?
Suzanne was watching Regis when she tells me something is going on--that a plane had just crashed into the World Trade Center. I immediately turned on the Today show, from whatever kiddie show was on, and stood horrified as I watched the building burning. She and I stayed on the phone, each watching our respective channels when all of a sudden the second plane flew into the other building. I remember the sounds of shock and horror from the Today hosts and I remember saying to Suzanne "did you see that? was that a replay of the first crash?" It all seemed so surreal.
I drifted and tip toed around the house all morning while watching this horror unfold right before my eyes, trying to carry on normally because I had these two precious babies to keep safe. Gary told all his guys to go home and be with their families and he came home to us.
Things changed for a while. I was scared to leave the house for the fear of the unknowing. Would terrorists decide to attack Atlanta? I would drive the kids around endlessly pointing out and counting all the houses that were flying the American Flag. Friends and strangers were nicer, gentler, and kinder. I was proud of how we all came together.
I had always heard older people saying they remembered exactly where they were when Pearl Harbor was bombed or when Kennedy was shot. Now I know. I'll never forget the goings on of that very ordinary morning that turned into an extraordinary day.
Where were you?
