Week In Review - So Far

Gosh, it seems like ages since I've been on here. A lot has been going on, just not anything that seems worth talking about. Sunday we all went to the Falcon's game and watched them whip up on the New Orleans Saints. Both kids have had a ton of homework and several tests to study for. Gary's been gone since 4:00 am Tuesday morning - just me and the kids. He's on a plane back right now. I had night time boot camp and let just tell you how tough the instructor was but what made it all worth it, besides getting in good shape, was the weather. It was cool and tons of stars were out along with a big old moon and it was heaven to be laying there under such a canopy. Mary Ellen and I also started our personal training with the "other Kelly Pettit." I think she plans on making us totally buff - or at least that's what it seemed like! Wednesday I went to the dermatologist for the always humiliating all over body check. The doc took off one atypical spot. Hope they got it all because I really don't want stitches in my back. Today I went with Karen and Mike to register at Babies R' Us :) It was totally overwhelming to Karen and they were glad to have me there to weed through all the stuff. "Yeah, you'll need that. No, you'll never use that. You need at least two of those." They then treated me to lunch at one of my favorites, Steak and Shake. Tomorrow we have horse back riding and of course Saturday is the big 60 and 70 year birthday parties for Vicki and Bob. I think lastly, Zack's baseball game is Sunday at 12:30.

Peace ya'll.

*edit* Ansley just lost another big tooth. She's going to need baby food if she loses anymore.

Native American Festival and Pow Wow

On Friday, the entire second grade went to Stone Mountain to the Native American festival and Pow Wow. It was a lot of fun and the weather was the absolutely most perfect day- ever! There were lots of exhibits such as artifacts, animals and animal skins, music, tee pees and of course to ruin it all, a lot of vendors selling things the kids couldn't buy. We ate lunch and the kids were back by 1:00.

Picnic lunch.
Shooting a bow and arrow.
Petting a wolf skin. There were also crocodile, buffalo, fox, etc.
Smiley.

Waiting For The Show

Now that Ansley is in the 4th grade, she has cycled out of the Cornucopia productions. She actually got to watch the entire show for once. Here she is getting restless and messing with her dad.

Fall Cornucopia- Zack

Last night kindergarten and second grade had their Cornucopia show. Every year, each K-3rd present two songs. It is a really cute -really crowded affair at Vanderlyn. This year the entire second grade collaborated on a Barnyard theme show and I must say, I've endured a lot of chaotic singing at school, but this year's presentation was fantastic. Zack's class all had to dress up like pigs. There were lots of pink pigs, girls and boys, and one black pig. Can you guess who the lone black pig was? It was so crowded I couldn't get any good shots, but these might give you an idea.

Good News For Nan

Thanks to all for your care and concern, prayers and good wishes - Nan's test from her surgery came back negative. So,..........Let's Move On!!!!!

Kelly Gets Crazy

Last night Lainie and I went to Smith's Old Bar - on a Monday night! (Mary Ellen told me she would have been surprised if I had gone on a Friday night.) Anyway, Duncan Sheik,(Barely Breathing) along with the original Ilse from Spring Awakening did a show. Lauren went on first and did her set, then Duncan came on and did one, they sang four or five songs from Spring Awakening (Duncan wrote the music for the show) then Duncan finished off with some original, unreleased material. It was a great show and Lainie and I had a great time people watching - and there was plenty of strangeness going on. I got home at a whopping 11:00 pm and felt like I had been on a bender this morning. I'm entirely too old to be out- in town - on a Monday -ever -but it was fun. The pictures suck, but are the proof I was actually out! Oh, and I went and spoke with Lauren about the show closing. She said they weren't sure what was going on and then I began to wonder if the show would actually close on January 18th or would they drag it out like they did RENT.

The Weekend Rundown

Saturday Aunt Nanci and Aunt Joan took Big and Little Zack to a Medieval Theater where they ate dinner (with their hands - no utensils) and watched a jousting show complete with real horses a king and a princess! Nanci said the boys were yelling "kill him" the whole time. The boys spent the night with Aunt Nanci and Uncle Robert and a great time was had by all.

Today, Ansley, along with her friends Tal, Kasey and Samantha all went to see High School Musical 3. The moms went along as well as a couple of assorted sisters. Everyone loved it, including the moms - that Zac Efron is cute!

Oh, and Gary and Zack went to the lake this afternoon to winterize the jet ski- fun fun!!!
Hope everyone had a great one!!
