So Let's Finish Up St. John

I think I left out New Year's Day. We rented a boat with the Wicklund's and headed to the British Virgin Islands. We checked in with Customs in Tortola then took the boat to an incredibly beautiful, tiny, beach called Sandy Spit. We anchored, swam to shore, and hung out while the kids played on beach and water. We left there and headed to Jost Van Dyke and to a hang out called the Soggy Dollar Bar. This bar is famous for their drink called the Painkiller and after taking one sip, I could see why after a few of these you would be feeling no pain. Problem is the pain you'll feel later on! We continued cruising all around all the Virgin Islands and it was so breath taking. Lots of fun, but I'm not sure where the pictures are for the trip. I'll find some and post later.

Here is Zack with his birthday cake!

St John, USVI

Okie dokie - finally.. the commentary from the trip. We flew down Tuesday before New Year's. We rented a car in St. Thomas because, true to Gary form, we had to stop off at Sherwin Williams and pick up some stain for the Pond Bay job. After obtaining the stain we headed for the car ferry and took our spot on the small ferry. After slowly ROCKING and ROCKING our way towards St. John, we made it and I eventually lost the green color I was sporting from the rocky ride over. We went to the Wicklund's for a pizza dinner and play time for the kids. They were thrilled to see their buddies again.

Wednesday we all headed towards Maho beach -my personal favorite beach on the whole island. After our fill there, we headed to the Westin pool so the kids could play and Michelle could get food ready for the New Year's Eve party we were going to that night.

All the kids with their drinks. Why do I get a feeling that I'll be seeing this shot again in a few years, but those drinks won't be virgin?

Ansley and Walker at Maho.

Quinn and Zack at Maho as well.
Later that night we headed up to the highest point on St. John for a New Year's eve party at some friend's house. What a gorgeous view. You could see all over the Virgin Islands -British and US. I'd love to post some pictures from the party, but well, they are on the digital so no such luck.
