Computer Nightmare

So don't be looking for any updates or email from me. Long story short I don't have my computer. Gary just took it to have all my stuff transferred to my new computer and they are not sure when they'll get back here and reinstall AOL. Big pain in my a$$ so I'm very stressed right now. Plus, I'm trying to type on Gary's laptop and it is a nightmare. I HATE THIS!!

Otherwise, Zack's at a spend the night party, Ansley's witching about being hungry, and we're going to the Falcon's game tomorrow. They're playing the Lion's. Hopefully we'll see a win. Also, Zack's game is Sunday at 5:30. Come out and see some ball.

On two sad friend notes, Maryellen's father passed away Thursday night. Christine Cooper's mom had to be moved to rehab after falling and breaking her hip, her long time dog, Roxie, had to be put to sleep last Sunday and one of their frogs died yesterday. Our prayers are with all of them.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
If you need me, please just call. I'm not sure when I'll be back online ---BUT IT BETTER BE SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom and Daughter Trip - June 2008

Here are a few photos from mine and Ansley's mom/daughter trip to the lovely towns of Vienna, West Virginia, Belpre, Ohio and Columbus, Ohio.

We had a great time celebrating Ansley's 10th birthday. It was very special since she planned the trip all by herself and I was happy to take her. We started our trip by flying into Charleston, WV, driving to Parkersburg/Vienna, WV then crossing the Ohio River to Belpre in order to get to the Lee Middleton Doll Museum. She chose a beautiful doll (pictured below.) The next day we made the extra long drive to the Columbus Zoo but it was well worth it. What an awesome zoo. Unfortunately, it makes the Atlanta Zoo seem kind of sad.

The petting zoo had a ton of goats. Here is Ansley with one particularly handsome guy.

This particular goat's parents had spent a TON on orthodontia. Can you see how perfectly straight and white his teeth are? Okay, so perhaps the orthodontia didn't work out too well. Those are his bottom teeth but boy were they straight and pearly white. He has one gorgeous goat grill!

Michelle, This One's For You (NSFW)

You wanted naked crab photos? Here's the money shot. Shrek has decided to go in the buff again. I have no idea what's wrong with this kooky crab but I guess I need to do some research and find out what all this means. I don't think it's normal for a hermit crab to keep streaking around. I'll keep you posted.

30 Minutes Post Boot Camp

Well, I made it through the first hour of boot camp this morning. Let me say, it was tough. Those ladies are mean, mean, evil workout women. Actually, today there were very nice, but I can tell by the glint in their eyes that will soon end and the very nice will become very tough. At the moment I'm shaky but still mobile. By tomorrow I should be limping along and then by Saturday I should just be plain paralyzed. I'll keep you posted.

Party In The Crab House

While we were at the lake Zack's crabs decided to throw a party. When we got back I checked in on Hermit II, now Shrek and his roommate, Spot. The house was in total disarray. Their pool was turned sideways and of course empty and their food dish was totally upside down. But the most shocking thing of all was that Shrek was n-a-k-e-d! His shell had been discarded and he was streaking around in the buff. Not knowing whether he was trying to molt, where crabs shed their shell then their exoskeleton, go under ground for a week or so then reappear and then usually put on a different shell, or whether he just wasn't feeling the Shrek shell, or god forbid, Spot has run him out of the shell, I decided to take Spot out, get some food and water in there then threw in three of four shells, including the original shell he had just recently vacated.

Gary, never having seen a naked crab was quite interested in his nakedness. They do look weird especially when you're used to seeing just their claws and eyes.

Long story short, Shrek took a bath, put the Shrek shell back on and seems just fine. Perhaps I had just interrupted some crab fun. You know the old tired saying, "when the cat's away, the crabs will play."

Question

Where would you say this picture was taken?
A. Gainesville dirt bike track.
B. Mojave desert.
C. At a large area of ugly dirt, rock and weeds.
D. The huge area in front of our dock where there used to be water.
Answer: C and D.
Amazing that three years ago we had a house with a lot of water in front of it. Not only is there a gorgeous dirt beach now, the water, due to our good friend TS Fay, is full of trash. It was so ugly and disgusting when we got there I didn't want anyone to get into the water. By the time we left, the water was starting to clear up. We've closed up shop for the winter but hopefully by the time we get back next spring, there will be lots of clear water in front of our house and the only beach we see will be in Hilton Head - or perhaps St. John!
